Board Members

Yorkshire

Remunerated

Our vision at Yorkshire Housing is that everyone should have the opportunity to live in a quality home they can afford, and we currently own and manage 18,000 affordable and social rent homes, with a plan to develop 8,000 more over the next 10 years. We’re already making a huge difference to the lives of our customers and want to do even more by revolutionising the way we work - to go from being a good business to a great one. Proud to be more than just a landlord, we are transforming our business by investing in people, processes and technology to deliver a consistently great experience for our customers and be an organisation people want to work with and for.

Our success is dependent on our people and we are now looking to appoint four new Board Members, one of whom will also be the Chair of our YH Residential Board. You may already be a current non-executive with significant strategic leadership experience, although we’re also very keen to hear from aspirant Board Members who want to join an ambitious and customer focused organisation such as ours. Either way, we look for people who are curious, think differently, have impact and above all people who can make things happen.

For three of the new Board Members, we are specifically looking for skills and insight into one or more of the following areas: digital transformation and enabling experience gained within a fast-paced customer service sector; broad financial expertise, in particular funding, treasury or refinancing experience to ensure we deliver our growth targets; and we are also looking for social housing strategic leaders to bring valuable insight as we continue our transformation journey to become one of the most dynamic, innovative and forward thinking housing associations in the country. For the fourth Board Member, who will also Chair our YH Residential Board, you’ll bring to us significant commercial insight into development, property sales or investment, ideally combined with recent Board experience and financial literacy to oversee our non-social housing activities.

Yorkshire Housing is proactively working to implement its Equality and Diversity Policy. We positively welcome and support diversity in our workforce and welcome applications from all sections of the community.

If you share our considerable ambition and have the skills and experience we’re looking for, please download the candidate pack from: www.gatenbysanderson.com. For a confidential conversation, please call our advising consultants at GatenbySanderson: Simon Wing on 0207 426 3976 and Nick Roberts on 07393 013697.

The closing date for applications is 9:00am on Monday 5th October 2020.
