This position is a fantastic opportunity for a determined and inspirational manager to lead our Housing Income Service. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader to champion good practice, create a customer centric culture whilst enhancing the service we provide as we move to a brighter future.

Key Duties

  • To lead in the implementation of rent increases, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements in relation to the information to tenants and required notice periods
  • To lead and implement effective budget setting, forecasting, monitoring and control, to meet the council’s priorities and achieve maximum value for money
  • To develop and review a Rent & Service Charge policy ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory regulation
  • Design and set performance targets, ensuring that these are closely monitored and that appropriate interventions are made
  • To lead the Housing Income and debt recovery service ensuring the viability of the Housing Revenue Account through robust income management and early intervention

Experience, Qualifications and any Mandatory Requirements

  • Possess a relevant degree level qualification and/or significant relevant experience in a senior leadership role in Income management
  • A solid understanding of the relevant legal, political and operational aspects of an Income collection service
  • A recognised management qualification or equivalent

Skills Required

  • You will have a demonstrable experience in Income Management and a strong understanding of the legislative framework relating to this area of work and its practical application
  • Significant experience of leading outstanding customer focused services
  • You will be able to clearly demonstrate your skills along with your commitment to improving services and working innovatively
  • Excellent communicator who engages positively with wider stakeholders to deliver projects
