About the role

Our Private Sector Housing Standards Service is one of the largest of its kind and has been a national lead on the use of digital platforms in delivering services to residents, tenants and private landlords.

We are now looking for a Project Manager in a new senior role who will lead on both service and corporate projects to develop a robust strategy, providing IT solutions that will drive forward our service delivery improvement programme. We are now at a critical point in considering new cloud-based applications and systems that will require either in house development/integration with products such as MS Dynamics 365 and/or procuring IT solutions from the current market place.

Working in collaboration with senior colleagues across the organisation the role oversees the spectrum of data and systems management, taking responsibility for the production and development of all activity and outcomes; including measurement reports, performance indicators and various service outputs.

Managing a talented team of individuals, the role promotes an environment of continuous improvement, leading from the front, whilst developing and coaching individuals to support key processes at a corporate and service level.

As we look to improve the way we work by adapting to a changing environment, the role is crucial in developing and maximising the use of our systems for the business and our customers, identifying opportunities to enhance the service delivery. 

About you

Displaying a key focus within IT project management, you will have a proven track record in leading major reforms and upgrades in accordance with best practice methodologies, successfully delivering complex projects or programmes within a local authority or similar public sector organisation.

Encouraging innovation and partnership working you will benefit from a collaborative management style, with the ability to engage, develop and drive services to achieve operational excellence, increasing efficiency and productivity.

Reviewing the key data to guide decision making, you should be able to evidence the use of qualitative and qualitative data to measure the performance of services, devising appropriate development strategies, whilst building complex reports from key business systems.

You will also be familiar with the principals of agile working and have experience of IT procurement processes.

To be successfully shortlisted for the position, you must be able to evidence the following within your application:

  • Expert knowledge of private sector housing and renewal issues and ability to develop and implement comprehensive improvement strategies.
  • Expert understanding of the relevant housing legislation and the legislative framework in related areas like finance, enforcement and planning.
  • Proven track record of management experience at a senior level.
  • Significant practical experience of delivering strategies and services to address private sector housing issues.
  • Financial planning and budget management skills with substantial budgets and business management skills.
  • Project management at a senior level.
