Join this innovative social organisation as Income Officer, protecting Raven’s income and supporting customers to successfully maintain their tenancies.
Raven has a clear social purpose: building homes and changing lives. We aim to be an outstanding provider of homes within Surrey and Sussex, a cornerstone of the community and an innovative employer.
Your challenge as an Income Officer will be to work with customers, colleagues, and external agencies to reduce the number of evictions due to rent arrears, as well as with local authority partners to help reduce homelessness. Your main focus will be on proactively helping customers to develop a payment culture and manage their rent to prevent arrears. Indeed, it will see you negotiate reasonable payment plans with them via early intervention. When necessary however, you may need to progress serious cases to court action and eviction. Put simply, it’s a vital role within a high performing Income team that will see you protect Raven’s income and do all you can to help our customers sustain their tenancies.
Already with experience of working in a rent/income environment, ideally for a social housing provider, you will have some knowledge of arrears management. What’s more, you’re great at delivering excellent customer service and familiar with homelessness legislation and local and national Government Policy relating to welfare benefits. You must also share our values: earning trust by being open and accountable, listening with an open mind, working collaboratively and caring about making things better.
We support and trust our staff to work as a team and be their best. We offer good salaries and benefits, a great pension scheme, generous holiday and sickness benefit, plus support for further training to develop your skills and career. We are proud to have Investors in People Gold Accreditation.
