Do you want to be involved in an exciting new programme and support making a difference to address Oxford’s housing crisis?   If yes, then Oxford City Council has an opportunity that you may be interested in.  The Council has a key aim to deliver more affordable housing.  This ambition recognises the programme of work required to address Oxford’s housing crisis, where existing homes are unaffordable for many, and demand for good quality homes outstrips what is available.  Oxford is regularly cited as the least affordable city in the UK, so the scale of this challenge is significant.

The Council has already established a housing company and developed a housing supply programme which is starting to deliver more affordable homes.  It seeks to take this further by ensuring outcomes are achieved; accelerating delivery; and identifying further opportunities to grow and sustain this housing supply programme.

This new role seeks to support the effective programme and project management of this work, with a focus on supporting the delivery of key initiatives and outcomes, across the Council, the housing company, and through building strong relationships with strategic partners and stakeholders.

This role will also contribute to developing new opportunities and initiatives to ensure the continued effective delivery of affordable homes and regeneration projects to meet Oxford’s housing needs.
