This is an overview of the role:

The Senior Support Officer role is an essential role in the organisation that provides and oversees day-to-day administrative support to multi-functional teams. We have two roles emerging, one in our Service Design and Transformation Directorate and another in our HR, Corporate Resources directorate. The role will be key in embedding new ways of working in the organisation by supporting the co-ordination of cross-functional work and the role holder will be a key point of contact and knowledge for the virtual team(s) by operate in the centre of it. The role holder(s) will demonstrate an ability to handle multiple priorities and apply excellent attention to detail, anticipating the needs of the teams and showing initiative in problem solving.  

The successful person will be responsible for:

- Acting as a main point of contact for the directorates’ multi-disciplinary teams and some Senior Management; showing an understanding of the projects and team mission and purpose.  
- Supporting line managers when needed, to oversee administrative activities and ensure tasks are completed effectively and on time.  
- Planning internal and external meetings, and workshops, on behalf of various members of the team (including on behalf of some Senior Management), as well as delegating tasks to other support officers in the team, when necessary.  
- Ensuring agile tools, such as Trello, are kept up to date to manage Senior Management activities, as well as to manage own workload and that of the wider support team.  
- The effective filing of documents using robust version control and restricting access using effective permission settings.  

In order to complete the responsibilities for this role, the successful candidate will have:

- Drive to ensure the directorates’ support team is a high performing administrative function. 
- High levels of integrity, demonstrating an ability to ensure confidentiality in the work they are involved with.  
- Flexibility to work with teams that contain different disciplines and expertise.  
- A collaborative mindset and positive approach when interacting with others. 
- An understanding of commerciality in the support they provide; being mindful of spend and value for money.
