About Us
The Guinness Partnership is one of the leading providers of affordable housing and care services in England. We build and manage homes and provide housing services for around 135,000 customers nationwide. Of our 65,000 homes, more than 70% are let at a social or affordable rent, while around 10,000 are owned or part-owned by the people who live in them.

Our vision is to deliver great service, provide great homes, to be a great business and to be a great place to work. Because everything we do is about our customers, our communities and our people, any profit we make is re-invested in new and existing homes and improving services.

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Estates and Grounds Maintenance Manager to join our team on a permanent full-time basis.  You will be mobile working and be responsible for delivering services across multiple schemes in Cheshire (Crewe), Lancashire & Greater Manchester.

The successful candidate will lead the delivery of our Estate Service and they will be at the forefront of making a real success of our face-to-face customer liaison service.

We’re looking for someone with a strong track record of leading a team to deliver exceptional levels of customer service and who’ll effectively manage their resources and inspire our colleagues and both internal & external customers to get things done for our customers.

You’ll be someone who enjoys being a motivational leader and promoting Guinness whilst modelling our behaviours.  You’re the sort of manager who has high standards, is both a pacesetter and works collaboratively at all levels.  Most of all, you enjoy enabling your team to be the best they possibly can be.

You must have a full UK driving licence to apply for this vacancy.

What we’re looking for
We’re a customer-focused organisation so we know that how we do things is just as important as what we do. You’ll not only be an experienced manager, but you’ll also have great customer service skills and a willingness to go the extra mile to get the job done.

You’ll also be able to demonstrate:

  • Effective management skills to provide successful leadership of teams and accountability for key performance indicators.
  • Experience of effectively engaging with customers, acting on feedback to improve service.
  • Sound knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, safe working practices (e.g. COSHH) and evidence of a pro-active approach to risk management within the delivery of Estate Services.
  • Knowledge of the correct procedures for repair and maintenance of plant and equipment.
  • Experience of managing suppliers to deliver value for money in the provision of supplies and equipment.
  • Excellent knowledge of arboreal and horticultural practice.
  • Excellent oral and written communications.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrate the Guinness Behaviours.
