With 57,000 homes and more than 120,000 residents and customers we have a real opportunity to make that vision a reality. Our people care, dare and collaborate to ensure we achieve this People Powered Living.

This role

As a care and support worker you will join our team to provide support to adults at risk who have learning disabilities in Balham. Working over 2 schemes you will be required to support our customers to lead more independent lives. The role involves providing personal care, support with medication and preparing meals, among other duties.

You will be required to be flexible and work on a 24/7 rota, including bank holidays. Shifts are 7-2:30, 2-10, 4-10 and 3-10+ sleep in for which you will get an additional payment.

If you are looking to join a leading Housing Association that will support your development, then we would be interested in receiving your application.

What you'll need to succeed

Experience of working with people who have learning disabilities or complex needs is essential. You will need to be able to work either within a team or independently and have the confidence to support customers who may present challenging behaviours. You also need to be able to demonstrate a passion for delivering an excellent service to adults at risk in a dignified manner.

You will have knowledge of implementing and reviewing support plans and individual customer risk assessments.

In addition, as all of our records are kept on a central IT system, confidence at learning new IT skills is required.

To meet our commitment to providing safe, high quality services to our customers we will complete an enhanced background check with the Disclosure and Barring service, which will include a check of the Adult Barred list, once an offer of employment is made. A new check will be completed every three years.

Interview date: 19th and 20th November 2020
