Job Details

We are looking for a Director of Development Delivery to join us and play a key role in helping us achieve our Development Strategy.

A growing business with a strong social purpose

Our purpose at Catalyst is ‘homes people love’. That means everything from developing and maintaining great homes, to delivering excellent service to our customers every day. We provide housing for those who can’t afford a home without our help as well as offering a wide range of homes for rent, shared ownership or outright purchase. We’re one of the UK’s leading housing associations with 34,000 homes and 1,200 employees. We're a strong business at a particularly exciting point in our evolvement having recently merged with another large housing association, Aldwyck. We are inspired by the benefits of a diverse workforce. We encourage diversity and inclusion at all levels of our organisation and are fully committed to equality of opportunity.

We’re also a Sunday Times top 100 Best Company to Work for. We invest care, time and resources in our people because we know it’s our people who will drive our purpose. If you’d like to be part of what we do, please get in touch.

The Role:

Catalyst has a bold Development Strategy and ambitions to build 1,300 new homes every year. You will play an integral part in the delivery of all new multi-tenure homes in our London region, delivering up to 650 new homes people love every year.  You will be responsible for the production of all new homes within the London region, spanning a variety of tenures (including market sale, shared ownership, affordable rent and other tenures) and across a number of different delivery routes (e.g. Joint Venture, land-led, regeneration and section 106) with a range of partners – housebuilders, developers, JV partners and main contractors. You will provide leadership and direction to a department of experienced Development professionals and set a framework to ensure that our development programme is managed according to programme, budget and to an excellent quality standard.

One of our core priorities across all parts of the business is delivering an excellent experience every time to every customer, internal and external. Our values are: deliver on promises; give respect; be accountable; show kindness. You will make them a central part of your work at Catalyst.

About You:

You will have a demonstrable track record in the direction and delivery of multi-tenure housing development and regeneration. Additionally, you will have experience in managing a programme of new mixed tenure developments through a range of construction contracts, to deliver to cost, quality and time. You will have good knowledge of the housing association sector and the private sector, having worked in one of these sectors at a senior level. In line with this, you will have knowledge of the regulatory and legal frameworks applicable to housing development by a regulated housing association. You will have evidence of strategic thinking that is used to turn broad policies and objectives into coherent plans to achieve results, accurately determining and allocating resources and be able to successfully motivate people in difficult circumstances. You will have a track record of working alongside Commercial colleagues on successful budgetary management and proven ability to interpret complex financial information to deliver results.
