As a care and support worker you will join our team providing support to vulnerable adults. You will be providing care and support to 9 adults with learning disabilities within a purpose-built service. This service provides a secure and safe home to our customers and you are key to their wellbeing. Customers do require support with daily domestic tasks such as food preparation and cleaning.
Our customers thrive through being involved in social activities which you will be required to support them to involve with and to ensure they maintain as much independence as is possible.
Working 37.5 hours a week, you will need to be prepared to be flexible and work a 24 / 7 rota including weekends and bank holidays.
What you'll need to succeed
You’ll need good commination skills to be able to work as part of a team or work on your own when needed. Knowledge of care plans and how they should be maintained is essential. As all of our records are recorded on a central IT system, confidence at learning new IT skills is also required.
The key is the ability to demonstrate a passion to deliver excellent service to vulnerable adults in a dignified manner. You will need to be able to work independently and have the confidence to deal with customers with compassion and promote social interaction as much as is possible.
To meet our commitment to providing safe, high quality services to our customers we will complete an enhanced background check with the Disclosure and Barring service, which will include a check of the Adult Barred list, once an offer of employment is made. A new check will be completed every three years.
