Yorkshire Housing are recruiting for 2 Electricians to join our regional HomeWorks team who provide quality and efficient services around Yorkshire but predominantly based around the Skipton area.

Within the wider HomeWorks team our Electricians carry out all aspects of Electrical  work in properties owned or managed by Yorkshire Housing.

What will you be doing?

Representing Yorkshire Housing in a positive and co-operative manner, completing all required work to the very highest standards of quality.  This also includes diagnosis, inspection of required works and providing accurate records.  You will also be ensuring all installations, repairs and inspections are carried out efficiently and within timescales to maximise the performance of the service.

Always working safely within the terms of our own safety manual and the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act etc, along with adopting any given best practice with regards to health & safety issues.  You will also be using your own initiative, resolve were practical any minor/routine technical difficulties on site but also working as part of a team liaising with other trades, HomeWorks administration and suppliers

Liaising with the public and tenants whilst carrying out your duties in a courteous and professional manner, always demonstrating the Yorkshire Housing Behaviours and Values.

Additional key requirements include (Full requirements included on role profile): 

  • Hold the recognised electrical qualification requirements as included on the role profile, including; City & Guilds Level 3 (or recognised equivalent qualification). Please ensure these are outlined on your CV.
  • Relevant experience, undertaking electrical installation, repairs, fault finding and inspection, testing and certifying in occupied domestic properties.
  • Working IT knowledge in order to operate devices
  • Able to demonstrate a working knowledge of current Health and Safety best practice and working knowledge of BS7671.
  • Knowledge of best practice & understanding of relevant building regulations
  • Full UK Driving license required

What can you expect from Yorkshire Housing?

In return we offer £30,009 for a 37.5 hour week with the opportunity for overtime when required, 25 days annual leave (raising annually to 30 days) plus Bank Holidays. You will also be provided a vehicle for work, smart devices, test equipment, uniform and all PPE.

This is a permanent, full time (37.5 hours per week) role with no fixed location. You will be based predominantly in Skipton, West Yorkshire but you will be expected to travel also across the entire Yorkshire region.

You will also be required from time to time to work out of hours repairs and maintenance service as necessary and may be required to take part in a call out rota for emergency works cover.

Interviews are likely to take place on a remote basis for this position in the current situation regarding Covid-19 so you may be advised to download the relevant software.
