Head of Responsive Repairs

The Industrial Dwellings Society (IDS) was one of the very first Housing Associations established in 1885 by a group of philanthropists whose ambition was to tackle extreme housing conditions in London’s East End. Now with 1400 homes mainly across London, we have stuck faithfully to this mission but moved with the times, housing London’s diverse communities within the framework of our Jewish heritage. Still ambitious, we’ve set our goal to be ‘best in class’ and have exciting plans to develop 500 new homes over the next few years.

Following a review of our property services operations, we are now recruiting to fill two brand new roles - Head of Responsive Repairs and Property Surveyor. The successful candidates will be pivotal in developing our repairs service - which is a key determinant of great tenant satisfaction rates - and will be responsible for looking after some amazing heritage properties as well as new homes coming on stream.

Head of Responsive Repairs, circa £62,000

Reporting to the Director of Operations and as a member of the Senior Management Team, you will develop and deliver a best-in-class repairs service, driving up performance and tenant satisfaction. Using your technical expertise you will ensure that our contractors are delivering to the highest standards and provide best value for money. We will also look to you to develop longer term improvement plans, and to lead and support your team to achieve them.
