First Garden Cities Homes (FGCH) is a new housing association formed from an amalgamation of Welwyn Garden City Housing Association (WGCHA) and Howard Cottage Housing Association (HCHA), owning and managing over 2,000 properties in the locality with a turnover of £17m.
As well as their own unique interests and identities, each organisation brings to the amalgamation a very successful track record of delivering high quality housing. With a combined 170 year history, there is a wealth of experience and knowledge of the housing sector, as well as a shared commitment to build on these strong foundations.
Reporting to the Finance Director, we are looking for an experienced and aspiring Finance professional, ideally with experience of working within a heavily regulated environment, who will be able to work closely with the Finance Director to provide oversight and support the FGCH finance function. We are seeking someone who can effectively support the Finance Director and act as the primary resource for all financial aspects of the business including financial returns, financial analysis, statutory accounts, business planning and operational support. Importantly you will have proven leadership skills, values that align with ours and you’ll want to help us to continue to succeed.
It is a fascinating time to be involved both in the social housing sector and with FGCH. This will be a challenging but rewarding role and for the right person a role which could be career elevating in an established and growing organisation.
The role brings people management responsibilities, so you must be able to demonstrate experience supporting a team and ideally supporting the implementation of successful culture change.
We offer a supportive and flexible working environment, including options to combine an office presence with working from home, and flexibility on working hours where the role allows. If you would like to be part of our journey, we’d like to hear more about you.
