Our purpose at Catalyst is ‘homes people love’. That means everything from developing and maintaining great homes, to delivering excellent service to our customers every day. We provide housing for those who can’t afford a home without our help as well as offering a wide range of homes for rent, shared ownership or outright purchase. We’re one of the UK’s leading housing associations with 34,000 homes and 1,200 employees. We're a strong business at a particularly exciting point in our evolvement having recently merged with another large housing association, Aldwyck. We are inspired by the benefits of a diverse workforce. We encourage diversity and inclusion at all levels of our organisation and are fully committed to equality of opportunity.

The Role:

We are looking for someone who can help us build on and further enhance our data security and privacy arrangements. This is truly an exciting time to be joining the team at Catalyst. You will report to the Head of Risk and Assurance and lead your team on all data protection related matters. You will be the point of contact for all data protection and privacy related queries, assist colleagues in the resolution of such queries and liaise with the Information Commissioner’s Office on all enquires and investigations. You will develop and deliver an annual programme of assurance to assess and report compliance against our procedures and identify and resolve privacy risks and requirements for key projects and business change initiatives. In line with this you will manage and resource the timely completion of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and all information rights requests (including Subject Access). You will work collaboratively with stakeholders across the business to help embed security and privacy principles and drive good behaviors and actively participate in the G15 Data Protection Group and share good practice.

About You:

You will have experience in a data protection capacity, including advising on privacy issues, Subject Access Requests, Privacy Notices and information sharing. You will have relevant Privacy and/or Data Protection certification (e.g. CIPP, ISEB Practitioner Certificate in Data Protection) or other relevant professional qualification. Additionally, you will have knowledge of and experience in the principles and requirements of the DPA 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Having experience in providing pragmatic, commercial and creative solutions to aid compliance is also beneficial. You will have excellent written and communication skills and have experience in project management and implementing large scale initiatives. Experience in the housing sector is desirable.
