Are you passionate about helping people facing homelessness?

Can you work in a fast-paced frontline service?

The Housing Options service at Barnet Homes works on the frontline of homelessness in Barnet, providing housing and homelessness advice to those in need in one of the most popular places to live in London.

A new part time role has been created to support and develop Barnet’s Domestic Violence and Abuse One Stop Shop (DVAOSS) which provides a multi-agency approach to supporting victims of domestic violence. This role is for someone with a real passion and commitment to helping victims of domestic violence. It includes assessing the needs and risks of victims and providing support to enable them to access the services that they need to make them safe. Working with partners and engaging with them at the DVAOSS is key to the role as is administering referrals and collating outcomes for monitoring purposes. The role will also link victims in Barnet’s refuges to support services provided by the DVAOSS and other providers.

We are looking for applicants who have experience of working with victims of a domestic violence who are preferably trained as an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate or are in the process of doing so.  Being able to build relationships and engage with partners to deliver excellent services is essential to the role as well as being able to administer referrals on time.

We are a London Living Wage employer, and pride ourselves on our equality, diversity and inclusion, as well as the opportunities we provide for staff growth and development.

We are the parent company to:

  • Opendoor Homes – a subsidiary of Barnet Homes which gained Registered Provider status from the Homes and Communities Agency in 2016. Opendoor is developing an initial 320 new homes in the borough, and has ambitions to build many more. It is also purchasing homes on the open market for affordable rent.
