Senior Accountant - Development

We are looking for a Senior Accountant - Development (1 post) to join our Finance Team.
The purpose of the role is to support the financial reporting and monitoring of the growth area, including monthly management reporting, performance reports, committee and statutory reports in line with relevant accounting and sector standards. The growth area covers the development programme including new build and acquisitions and neighbourhood regeneration.
You will undertake financial appraisals and due diligence in relation to development schemes, ensuring robust processes and controls exist. Challenge as necessary to ensure the integrity of the scheme forecasts. Ensure the necessary reports on the programme are accurate and timely, and that detailed variance analysis takes place so that fully understood and potential risks and opportunities in the programme are identified. Be responsible for accuracy of the financial inputs and outputs of the Sequel software. Ensure accuracy of actual transactional data uploaded and ensure forecast over or underspends are accurate and fully understood. Support the budget setting, business planning and financial modelling using Brixx software.
In addition, you will support the coordination and production of the month end account and development committee reports, complete relevant balance sheet reconciliations, ensure all reporting is delivered within agreed group time scales and support the annual financial accounts for legal entities, such as the Registered Providers, Onward Build, and any joint ventures. Prepare any relevant statutory notes required under applicable accounting standards. Liaise with external and internal auditors to provide information and resolution to queries.
In order to be successful you will have experience of developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, of financially reporting performance through management accounts including variance analysis, financial forecasting and working closely with operational teams and a good knowledge of accounting software packages.

The base location for this role will be Didsbury. However please note that due to Covid-19, we have adapted our working arrangements under government guidelines and Safe Systems of Work and the post holder would currently be expected to work from home.
