We are recruiting for an Electrician for our HomeWorks department at Yorkshire Housing.

We own and manage more than 18,000 homes and we’re developing thousands more. We’re ambitious and serious about making Yorkshire Housing first choice for our customers, helping everyone to live in a quality home they can afford.

Within the wider HomeWorks team our Electricians carry out all aspects of Electrical work in properties owned or managed by Yorkshire Housing.

What will I be doing?

Initially due to the current COVID-19 restrictions in place you will be working with our Reactive Team ensuring all Fix Wire Testing and PAT testing are carried out within the property efficiently and within timescales to maximise the performance of the service and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Following that you will then transfer across to our Kitchen & Bathroom Installations Team and then be responsible for the provision of high quality electrical repairs & alterations to existing fittings and fixtures, rewiring partial or full properties, including inspection, testing and the provision of certification and reporting on condition of the electrical components and equipment contained within our stock.

You will also be using your own initiative, resolve any practical minor/routine technical difficulties on site but also working as part of a team liaising with other trades, HomeWorks administration and suppliers

You will be liaising with the public and tenants whilst carrying out your duties in a courteous and professional manner, always demonstrating the Yorkshire Housing Behaviours and Values.

What are we looking for?

This role would suit someone who is very focused on Customer Care and delivering the best results and creating trust with our customers.

Additionally, you will be a fully qualified Electrician with relevant experience and qualifications. Along with a full UK driving license.

In return we offer £30,008 for a 37.5 hour week with the opportunity for overtime when required, 25 days annual leave (raising annually to 30 days) plus Bank Holidays.

This is a permanent, full time (37.5 hours per week) role with no fixed location and you will be expected to travel also across the entire Yorkshire region.

You will also be required from time to time to work out of hours repairs and maintenance service as necessary and may be required to take part in a call out rota for emergency works cover.
