We are looking for a Project Manager to join the Regulator of Social Housing. The role can be based in either Manchester, Leeds or Birmingham.

The successful candidate will manage corporate projects, specialising in procurement, working with teams throughout the organisation and helping to deliver change where it’s needed.  They will also play an important role in supporting the work of the newly established PMO to proactively promote the centre of excellence and help embed the RSH Programme and Project Management Framework (PPMF) into everyday practices.

This role sits within the central PMO, in Finance and Corporate Services, to provide project management support to a wide range of activities working in conjunction with subject matter experts, such as policy development, HR and organisational development. The successful person will be responsible for managing projects and procurement as part of a standalone piece of work or as part of a programme (working to a Programme Manager) in line with the PPMF framework.

Alongside this, the role will also be involved in promoting and supporting the recently set up PMO, which is a real opportunity for someone to work with the rest of the Programme and Project Team to develop ideas to promote and embed the function.

The successful candidate will have experience of managing a variety of projects with different disciplines, and experience of managing multiple pieces of work at one time. Experience of using different methodologies, such as Prince II, MSP and agile, would be valuable but the right candidate will be able to flex their approach according to the work in hand. They will also have experience of various types of procurements, including software to specialist expertise, within a public sector environment including the use of frameworks and knowledge of OJEU.

Due to the size of the organisation (circa 170) this is a role for a person who likes to get involved in a number of different work areas and has a hands-on approach to project management, pitching in as needed.

General Information:

Location

Our staff are currently working from home due to COVID restrictions.

RSH’s core offices are in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol and London. Our posts can be successfully carried out from any RSH office unless otherwise specified in the provided job information. We offer flexible working arrangements and staff can work from home for part of their hours.

Most roles involve some travel within England between our offices, and some roles also involve onsite visits to social housing providers.

In line with Government requirements to reduce the number of Civil Service and NDPB roles based in London, we only advertise roles in London which need to be there for business-critical reasons.

Interviews

Interviews will take place on 10th, 12th, 15th February and will be held via Microsoft Teams due to the current closure of RSH offices and staff working from home.

Benefits and Salary

We offer a range of excellent benefits; information is available on our website.

The salary for this role is a spot salary within the given range, which will normally be the minimum of the range.  Annual salary reviews are determined by the government pay award. In addition, when the probation period is successfully completed, a performance related bonus may be awarded, based on appraisal ratings at the end of the qualifying appraisal year.
