Volunteering Development Officer
We are recruiting for a Volunteering Development Officer to lead on the successful development and implementation of a new volunteering strategy and framework for Yorkshire Housing.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and evolving housing provider. We own and manage more than 18,000 homes and are developing thousands more. We’re ambitious and serious about making Yorkshire Housing first choice for our customers, helping everyone to live in a quality home they can afford.
We are also serious about being first choice for employees and so we’re investing significantly in our systems, ways of working and our culture.
What will I be doing?
Due to the current Covid 19 restrictions you will initially be working from home.
You will conduct initial research and work with internal stakeholders to create new volunteering opportunities across the business. You will also lead on a review of the existing volunteer policy and recruitment procedures, making effective changes to help increase applications, and provide supervising colleagues with the necessary support to promote volunteer retention.
Alongside this, you will work with colleagues to further develop a new staff volunteering programme, creating links with external partners to increase opportunities for colleagues to offer their skills to make a positive contribution to their communities and to Yorkshire Housing customers.
This role is initially for 18 months fixed-term with the potential to be extended.
What are we looking for?
This role would suit someone with proven experience of managing volunteers and developing volunteering programmes.
You will be a confident communicator and have the ability to develop effective stakeholder relationships; be able to work on your own initiative and be proficient in the use of ICT systems, Microsoft packages and popular social media.
Due to the nature of the role you must have access to a car insured for business purposes.
What can you expect:
In return we offer £29,534 per annum for a 35-hour week, 25 days annual leave (raising annually to 30 days) plus Bank Holidays and a £2,000 annual car allowance.
We also provide a reward package to suit everyone – from a variety of retail discounts to a contributory pension scheme where we will match your contributions up to 9%! As well as our great benefits and a fantastic work environment, we’re also a company that cares about its employees and its customers.
So if you want to be part of a team that makes a real, positive difference every day and work for an organisation that prioritises its people and its customers then we want to hear from you!
Please note if you are applying for this role internally you must inform your current line manager.
The closing date for this advert is currently 9th February.
