Hackney Council is passionate about its housing stock, and committed to continue to maintain and enhance its homes and estates in both the short term and into the future. The guiding principles for investment are defined in the Council’s new Housing Asset Management Strategy 2019-2027. This document also sets the ambitions for the quality of our varied housing stock, ranging from Victorian street properties and pre-war mansion blocks to tower blocks on large estates. This is an exciting time to join Hackney and contribute to the strategy’s aim of homes in which people want to live and are proud of.

Our Asset Management service is changing to enable the team to achieve the ambitions set in the strategy, and, as a result, we are looking for a dedicated Asset Performance Manager who will embrace new ways of working and provide a proactive housing management function, taking account of the performance of the Council’s housing assets. This is a demanding role and yet it comes with the opportunity to influence and inspire teams of multi-disciplined professionals to deliver a high quality service.

As an Asset Performance Manager you will play a key role in the delivery of the new asset strategy through ensuring an integrated approach to collecting, processing and storing data and information across the existing housing stock of more than 30000 properties, to support further analysis and all aspects of decision-making. You will manage a team of specialist officers, and work proactively with partners and colleagues in other relevant services, ensuring that robust procedures and processes are in place for monitoring, controlling and  making any changes to the data.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in working with asset management databases and in analysing and reporting on complex statistical information and data handling. Importantly, the successful candidate will be an enthusiastic user of ICT, will have ability to interpret and convey complex technical, financial and performance information, will demonstrate the ability to lead staff by example, and work effectively within multi-disciplinary environments.
