About the Role

As our Lettings Manager, you will ensure the high quality, compliant, fair and accessible operational delivery of the Council’s Letting Policy through the Homeseeker Lettings Service. You’ll focus on meeting housing need, supporting the prevention and reduction of homelessness and the safeguarding of vulnerable children and adults. You’ll make effective use of stock, minimising void rent loss, and manage the expectations of applicants, supporting them to make informed decisions and balanced choices about rehousing across all tenure types.

So, if you have extensive experience and a good understanding of the nature of social housing lettings and the pressures facing the sector and its customers, this could be the perfect role for you.

We’re looking for a natural leader – someone who can confidently lead and motivate individuals in order to maximise their performance. You’ll demonstrate a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude and maintain your knowledge in best practice in Lettings, Housing Law and Housing Regulation. You’ll need to be able to make good, balanced, objective and difficult decisions in what can be a very pressurised environment and have experience of successfully managing and implementing projects.

Open and accepting of change, you will have the ability to analyse performance information and contribute ideas and solutions to improve the service. With impeccable communication and organisation skills, you will develop strategies and policies which engage and inspire and have experience of effectively managing budgets, ensuring value for money is achieved.

We’d also like you to be CIH qualified or hold another relevant professional qualification or Degree.
