Senior Financial Accountant

We are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant (1 post) to join our Finance Team.
The purpose of the role is to support the provision of financial accounting services including monthly management reporting, performance reports, internal control compliance and statutory reports in line with relevant accounting and sector standards. You will also support the management of the tax activities for the Group.
You will support the preparation of the annual financial accounts for group and subsidiary legal entities including consolidation and preparation of statutory disclosures required under applicable accounting standards. You will prepare for submission of various tax returns for group and relevant legal entities. Liaising with external and internal auditors, you will provide information and resolution to queries and put in place improvements based on recommendations.
You will be responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of the chart of accounts, ensuring that the necessary controls are in place to ensure correct classification of income, costs, asset and liabilities of the Group and its members, to facilitate good quality and accurate statutory and regulatory reporting outputs.
You will also support the coordination and production of the month end accounts, prepare control account reconciliations and analysis, ensure all reporting is delivered within agreed group time scales. You will also provide data assurance to ensure that information decisions are made at the right level.
Working in collaboration with finance colleagues you will develop and maintain effective processes and reporting through systems. Encouraging a culture of cross team collaboration you will also support workplace mentoring for the finance team.
You will have experience of working in a financial accounting role and year end process and working with external auditors. You will also have experience of people management and development and good knowledge of various accounting software packages.
You should also be full/part or working towards a qualification with a recognised accounting body (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or hold the relevant professional experience.

The base location for this role will be either Greater Manchester or Liverpool. However please note that due to Covid-19, we have adapted our working arrangements under government guidelines and Safe Systems of Work and the post holder would currently be expected to work from home.
