We are looking for a Senior Management Accountant (1 post) to join our Finance Team.

The purpose of the role is to support the provision of financial and management accounting services including monthly management reporting, performance reports, internal control compliance and statutory reports in line with relevant accounting and sector standards. You will also work closely with the financial business partners to understand and ensure accuracy of reporting and classification of costs to suit the tailored needs of the operational areas, as well as the regulatory and statutory requirements. 

You will support with the preparation of the monthly management accounts, providing accurate and relevant narrative to the organisation on financial performance, carrying out variance analysis to understand variances against budget.

You will be responsible for the validation and accuracy of the classification of income, costs, asset and liabilities of the Group and its members, to ensure good quality financial outputs to the finance business partners and ensure accurate statutory and regulatory reporting outputs. Liaising with the the Business Partner teams you will support budget holders to effectively manage and monitor their budgets.

Supporting the coordination and production of the month end accounts, you will prepare control account reconciliations and analysis, ensure all reporting is delivered within agreed group time scales. You will provide data assurance to ensure that information decisions are made at the right level. You will also liaise with external and internal auditors to provide information and resolution to queries and put in place improvements based on recommendations.

Working in collaboration with finance colleagues, you will develop and maintain effective processes and reporting through systems, encouraging a culture of cross team collaboration and supporting workplace mentoring. You will drive continual process improvements to deliver financial control and assurance across the group.

You will have experience of developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, experience of people management and development and good knowledge of various accounting software packages.

You should also be full/part or working towards a qualification with a recognised accounting body (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or hold the relevant professional experience.

The base location for this role will be either Greater Manchester or Liverpool.
