Yorkshire Housing are recruiting for a creative Learning and Organisation Development Partner to join our exceptional Learning and Organisational Development team.

About Yorkshire Housing

Yorkshire Housing is a dynamic Social Housing provider and is one of the largest home builders in Yorkshire. We look after nearly 20,000 homes and offer not only great places to live but a positive and supportive customer experience.  We want our customers to be proud of the homes we provide and the communities in which they live. Our ambitious growth plans will see an investment of around £1.6billion over the next ten years. We know that ultimately our success is dependent on our people who are constantly curious about learning and improving the services that we offer to our customers.

The Opportunity

The Learning and Organisation Development Partner will be a vital enabler to our agile learning culture, offering dedicated and professional learning and OD support, contributing to the ongoing delivery of Yorkshire Housing’s priorities and the People & Culture Strategy.

Guided by our strategic priorities, this brand-new role will be crucial in identifying, creating and enabling an amazing employee experience for colleagues across Yorkshire Housing and innovative learning opportunities to support YH to go from strength to strength.  The scope of the role is broad and can be shaped around your own personal specialisms.

What will you be doing?

You will be building trusted relationships with managers and colleagues within your business areas, enabling you to explore, diagnose and address their business challenges along with building structured and budgeted learning plans.

In addition, you will be identifying opportunities to improve performance and capability within your business areas, with a focus on developing manager capability and behaviours in our agile world, a key focus for Yorkshire Housing.  This may involve working closely with HRBP's to develop and deliver programmes to upskill managers along with supporting and coaching around PDP's with their people.

This will also involve providing innovative support to onboarding and induction programmes, ensuring that people receive the best possible joining experience when they start a career with Yorkshire Housing.

Also, you will be supporting the creation and delivery of targeted employee experience/engagement plans in your business areas and contributing to the evolution of talent assessment and talent management processes, ensuring that we expertly manage our high potential groups.

Additional activities will include, creating a coaching culture across your business areas where developmental 1:1 conversations and supportive feedback become the norm and also supporting the delivery of our Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging agenda to ensure that Yorkshire Housing is a truly inclusive employer.

What are we looking for?

What matters most to us is that you own the work you do to achieve impact by delivering results and creating trust with our customers.  We want you to be able to do this with pride and passion for Yorkshire Housing and have fun along the way!  If you have strong leadership skills, able to engage with colleagues and build strong internal and external relationships with a variety of stakeholders, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

Additional key requirements include:

We are looking for a candidate with a relevant professional qualification in  learning, organisational psychology / behaviour or Chartered MCIPD.  You will also have plenty of experience in:

  •  Designing, delivering and implementing complex learning and organisational development strategies, with a proven track record of results.
  • Consulting, collaborating with and influencing business leaders and colleagues to design and recommend effective learning and development solutions.
  • Supporting agile and remote teams.
  • Evaluating learning and development across organisations
  • Project managing learning and OD programmes through to successful delivery
  • Supporting talent and succession reviews and action plans.
  • Commissioning and monitoring third party delivery, managing contracts and procurement.

You will have the ability to develop and deliver learning and development using a wide range of media and methods, including e-learning, virtual delivery and online video guidance.  This will be along with an in-depth and up to date knowledge and experience within OD and change with the ability to use data and evidence to plan approaches and interventions.

What this role will give you:

  • Opportunities to transform and impact people practices, development and innovative ways of thinking, working and developing.
  • Exposure to teams, managers and leaders across the organisation and beyond, as you build your own networks to support delivery and your own development.
  • Growth - our team is planning to do a lot, deliver excellence and will always try to aim higher and further. This job will evolve with you.

What can you expect from Yorkshire Housing?

We offer a salary of up to £38,953 per annum for a 35-hour week, 25 days annual leave (raising annually to 30 days) plus Bank Holidays.  Our work environment is extremely flexible and agile working is encouraged.  We also have an excellent reward package to suit everyone – from a variety of retail discounts to a contributory pension scheme where we will match your contributions up to 9%.

The closing date for applications will be Sunday 31 January 2021 but should a competitive candidate pool be achieved, we reserve the right to close the role early.

Company

We are Yorkshire Housing by name and Yorkshire is our focus. We own and manage nearly 20,000 homes – and are developing thousands more.

Our vision is making it possible to have a place you're proud to call home.

You might think of Yorkshire Housing as ‘just’ a housing provider, but we’re so much more than that. We’re here to make a positive difference in people’s lives. So, as well as owning and managing nearly 20,000 homes (and counting) across Yorkshire, we also:

  • Offer money and tenancy coaching
  • Help older customers live at home independently
  • Adapt homes to match the needs of our customers
  • Carry out repairs and replace items before things go wrong
  • Provide antisocial behaviour support
  • Get involved with work in the community

OUR PRIORITIES

Our five priorities that will help us achieve our vision are:

Great Customer Experience

We’ll listen to customers and use what we know about them to shape our services. Oh, and we’ll provide extra support where it’s needed.

Homes and Places to be Proud of

We’ll create homes that people want to live in.

  • Quality
  • Safety
  • Affordability

We’ll also be kind to the planet and aim to be one of the first UK housing associations to stop using gas heating and hot water systems.

Growth

We’ll deliver 8,000 new homes by 2030. They will be energy efficient, sustainable and affordable to live in. We’ll also refresh our Help to Buy and social and affordable rented options.

We’ll achieve these priorities by focusing on being:

Employer of Choice

We’ll lead the way and make a name for ourselves as an employer. We’ll give you the right support and tools to succeed, plus a package full of benefits.

Strong, Resilient and Innovative Business

We’ll invest in all the right things, from our ICT to our people. This will make us stronger, helping us to make a difference to our customers and be a business that people want to work for and with.
