Delivering on our customer promise. That’s when it hits home

It’s a really exciting time to join Home Group as we build more homes, independence and aspirations – the vision that underpins our five-year strategy. Our commitment to deliver on our customer promise, build the right homes in the right places and be market leaders in New Models of Care, is in the hands of our brilliant people.

It’s also an exciting opportunity for you to join our Maintenance team and provide strategic leadership across our National Safety and Compliance function covering the UK from Dundee to Cornwall with 55,000 properties located in Scotland, North East, North West, Yorkshire, Midlands, South East and South West Regions.

You’ll be leading our operational colleagues and contractors to provide reliable and consistent services to our customers, ensuring brilliant servicing and repairs, customer satisfaction and outcomes.  This is a fantastic opportunity to really make your mark in this new role, leading on all aspects of Safety and Compliance driving cost, time and quality efficiencies, continuous improvement and delivering on our customer promise across key performance indicators.

You’ll work collaboratively with other Lead and Maintenance Contract Managers and colleagues to achieve operational excellence across your team and the wider business, delivering consistent, reliable services at scale.  You’ll also successfully manage our servicing and maintenance contractors, monitoring and ensuring brilliant performance delivery across all service and maintenance works at all times.

When you join, you’ll discover that it’s our brilliant people and culture that make a difference. For a start, we’re 10^th in the UK’s Best Super Large Great Places to Work, 6th Best Place in the UK for Great Places for Women to Work, 18th in the Stonewall Top 100 Employers and hold Investors in People Platinum Standard!

About our team

You’ll be working as part of our fabulous safety and compliance team who are super passionate about delivering a first class repairs and maintenance service to our customers.  You’ll report to David, our Head of Safety and Compliance who impressively has worked at Home Group for almost 25 years and has loads of fantastic experience in Compliance, Construction, Repairs, Maintenance, Contract Management and Customer Service Delivery.  Outside of work you’ll find that he has an interest in alternative music and is a keen Newcastle United supporter.

Where and when you’ll work

Having a National role, you’ll be home based with the opportunity to work from one of our key maintenance hubs in London, Maryport, Wetherby, Durham or Newcastle.

You’ll have the chance to shape your own diary. However you’ll likely spend around 2 days or so per week on the road supporting regional colleagues and managing contractors. As there will be regular travel, you’ll need to have a full driving licence and access to a car for work.

It’s the team’s unwritten rule that you attend the important appointments in life, be it your child’s school play, your partner’s graduation, or to get your new fridge delivered. You can elect to fit these around your working day or use your flexi to take the time off. Our focus is on getting the job done, not your working hours!

About you

You’ll have a brilliant background in all aspects of servicing, compliance, maintenance and contract management, leading, developing and managing geographically dispersed widespread teams in delivering customer focused services.  You’ll have a fantastic track record in utilising technology, systems and processes to maximise output, realise efficiencies and deliver value added services at the right cost.

Educated to degree level with membership of a professional body such as CIOB, RICS (or have equivalent experience or qualifications) you’ll have strong project management skills and be intuitively collaborative when working with a wide range of stakeholders and contractors.  You’ll be experienced in commercially analysing contractual clauses, data, managing contractors and using insights to drive commercial performance.

With a proven track record in forecasting demand and effectively planning resources, you’ll impress us with your ability to drive continuous improvements, shape business process design, deliver efficiencies and maximise outputs which benefit our customers. Overall, you’ll be a brilliant influencer, negotiator and have the ability to unleash the potential of others, bringing teams together to deliver our customer promise and make it a great place to work for our colleagues.
