We are looking for two experienced and highly motivated resident involvement officers to develop and deliver new ways to engage and involve residents in the planning, delivery and scrutiny of MKC’s housing services. At present you will mainly be working from home, making the most of virtual engagement tools to ensure that residents have opportunities to get involved during the COVID-19 pandemic and current restrictions.

Key Duties

  • Facilitate the development and provision of engagement and involvement opportunities, building a clear and effective framework in which tenant involvement operates.
  • Develop innovative methods of communication with tenants and residents, including digital methods, to support improved engagement and customer feedback.
  • Ensure that tenants and residents have all the information and training they need to enable them to engage effectively.
  • Ensure that MKC is equipped and ready to meet the requirements of the Government’s Social Housing White Paper, and that our approach to resident communication and involvement is compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with our accredited Residents Associations, supporting them to operate effectively, ensuring good governance is in place and managing the grant funding process.

Skills Required

  • Track record of delivering effective resident involvement and communications, with skills in engaging with a diverse range of people, including through virtual/digital methods.
  • Experience of developing and supporting tenant participation and scrutiny groups.
  • Working knowledge of the Tenant Involvement and Empowerment standard and the principles of co-production
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
  • You will need to be self-motivated, creative and tenacious.
  • You will need to work flexibly and attend evening and weekend meetings as required and be comfortable working within a changing and political environment.
