As a Senior Project Worker, you will play an active role in delivering our support service to young people.

A growing business with a strong social purpose

Our purpose at Catalyst is ‘homes people love’. That means everything from developing and maintaining great homes, to delivering excellent service to our customers every day. We provide housing for those who can’t afford a home without our help as well as offering a wide range of homes for rent, shared ownership or outright purchase. We’re one of the UK’s leading housing associations with 34,000 homes and 1,200 employees. We're a strong business at a particularly exciting point in our evolvement having recently merged with another large housing association, Aldwyck. We are inspired by the benefits of a diverse workforce. We encourage diversity and inclusion at all levels of our organisation and are fully committed to equality of opportunity.

We’re also a Sunday Times top 100 Best Company to Work for. We invest care, time and resources in our people because we know it’s our people who will drive our purpose. If you’d like to be part of what we do, please get in touch.

The role

We’re totally committed to delivering excellent customer experience – being easy, reliable and empathetic in the way we deal with customers, and each other. You’ll primarily be working with young people aged 16 to 25 preparing them to live independently once they leave the project. You’ll work closely with your Project Manager and line manager a team of Project Workers, to ensure them with engaging young people in their support programme and achieving their goals. In addition to this, you’ll manage the referral and interview process, whilst developing and maintaining good relationships with external agencies. You’ll need to ensure the project is clean and tidy and ensure that rent accounts are properly monitored and issue warnings as appropriate.

Key requirements

You are passionate about leading teams to deliver an excellent customer experience by being easy, reliable and empathetic in the way they deal with customers and colleagues. You work relentlessly to identify and remove pain points and consistently lead others to do the same. You may have some experience of working in a similar role, however if you have a passion or desire to work with vulnerable and complex young people then we’d still love to hear from you. You’ll need to be able to work with minimal supervision and be confident when dealing with tense or difficult situations. You will have strong IT skills and be an excellent all-round communicator. Due to the nature of the role, a discreet and sensitive approach with strong professional boundaries is also required. You’ll need to be flexible and able to work overnight and unsociable hours when required. An understanding of safeguarding and protection from abuse would be useful, but not essential.

The role will require a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
