About Two Rivers Housing

Two Rivers Housing is an independent not-for-profit organisation based in the beautiful Forrest of Dean. We believe that everyone should have access to a warm, safe, affordable home when they need it and are committed to ensuring we deliver on our promise to create great homes and support the communities and people that we work with.

Over the years we have introduced many green initiatives across the organisation. Our Rivers Meet office achieved a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating in 2014. We have installed green technology in many of our new-build homes helping reduce our carbon footprint and keep energy bills affordable for tenants.

With a turnover of £27 million, we have an ambitious plan to build 1,000 new affordable homes by 2028 and become carbon neutral by 2050. In 2020, we secured our largest private investment to further fund the delivery of new homes and invest in our existing homes. Now is an exciting time to join the Two Rivers Housing team.

We are currently seeking an experienced person with a desire to achieve excellent outcomes for our customers and stakeholders.

About you

As a Director, you will be responsible for the overall performance and strategic priorities of the housing, assets, development and maintenance teams.

Using your strong leadership skills, you will develop and implement corporate value for money initiatives to enable the organisation to achieve its objectives. You will effectively develop strategies for the delivery and improvement of services in all areas of your responsibility. This will include the further growth of our trading subsidiary Centigen Facilities Management, our asset management strategy (which includes the implementation of our strategy to achieve zero carbon emissions for our homes), and the successful management and maintenance of homes in accordance with best practice and relevant legislation and regulation.

With the ability to balance medium- and long-term objectives, you will proactively implement appropriate performance indicators and performance management practices within service areas to ensure robust management and control. You will use your confident communication skills and emotional intelligence to motivate and develop teams enabling them to successfully and efficiently achieve agreed objectives. In addition, you will ensure appropriate resources are in place to achieve strategic priorities through leading a robust budget and business planning process.

You must have demonstrable senior experience ideally within a social housing environment and hold a degree level or equivalent qualification. Ideally you should have a leadership development qualification or significant experience in this area, and you must hold an appropriate professional accreditation. Due to the nature of the role a full driving licence is required along with the ability to travel and work evenings and weekends when required.

We offer a flexible approach to working and work-life balance, including options to use our agile working policy. Our comprehensive package of employee benefits includes pension options, car allowance, competitive holiday entitlement, private medical and life insurance and more.

Closing date: Friday 5 March 2021

First Interview to be held w/c 15 March (via Microsoft Teams) with second interviews to be held w/c 29 March 2021 (via Microsoft Teams)
