Empowering customers to live rewarding and happy lives – that’s when it hits home!

We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team. We’re responsible for keeping our customers safe with our robust Health & Safety and compliance procedures whilst ensuring great customer satisfaction. This post will be initially based from home and then from one of our regional offices (when we return to office working) but it’s a great “Out and About” role where you will spend most days visiting Home Groups South East Region Properties.

About our team

You’ll be working alongside Nicol our Manager; she has worked here for nearly 3 years now and is really supporting the newly founded team of Officers to make this a great satisfying career. Nicol is based in Cumbria and in her spare time loves getting out in the lakes for walks with her family and little Shihpoo Max. Nicol regularly travels round the Regions and is always on the end of the phone for advice and support. We are all super passionate about Health, Safety and compliance to ensure our customers are kept safe and have a nice place to live.

Altogether there is 8 of us in the team and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too!

Working hours

In order to meet the needs of our customers, we need to be flexible. This means you’ll work 37.5 hours a week over 5 days, Monday to Friday between 8am – 6pm. As we’re asking you to be flexible for us, we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you meaning you can build up flexi-time for those appointments or family gatherings you don’t want to miss!

About you

As an Estate Compliance Officer, you’ll be responsible for the safety of our customers and staff by carrying out regular fire alarm and emergency lighting checks as well as estate inspections of our communal areas and grounds.

It would be brilliant if you have worked in a safety inspection environment before however you don’t need and feel you have great transferable skills, we’ll still love to hear from you. We have great staff on hand to give you a full induction and training to feel confident in your role and won’t drop you in at the deep end and we’ll help you to understand how things work. Here at Home Group we have invested heavily in our future and use current and up to date equipment. You’ll be issued with the latest kit, which includes personal safety devices, a Surface Pro and a mobile so it's important to us that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)

As this is a community-based role, you need to be able to drive, as well as having access to a vehicle insured for business purposes. Don’t worry, we’ll pay you expenses to cover this use! Best of all you’ll have the chance to shape your own diary as you’ll likely spend around 3-4 days per week on the road.

Not sure if this is the position for you? Give us a call and we can have a chat; you can ask any questions you have about the role too! Just call 03451414663 and ask to speak to Nicol Moffat who will be happy to help!

When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
