About the role

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to join a G15 housing association resident panel?

Network Homes is looking for two candidates with relevant skills and experience in the housing sector (housing management preferably) to join our Hertford & Outer London and London Local Panels. Your role will be to support the residents by using your skills and knowledge of the housing sector to challenge us effectively. You’ll apply to join one of the panels, ideally the panel with the location most suitable for you to attend meetings.

Our Local Panels are part of Network Homes Governance Structure ensuring we put residents at the heart of the organisation. They are made up of residents who work with us to drive up performance levels and satisfaction and help us to continually improve our service delivery. The chairs of both panels sit on the Customer Services Committee which is a delegated authority of the board.

You’ll be working with other panel members to hold us to account and ensure that we are compliant with the Regulator of Social Housing Consumer Standards. This also includes reporting to our Customer Service committee when we’re not compliant. You’ll get the opportunity to work in partnership with Network Homes staff to help us to continually improve our service delivery and make recommendations for our continuous improvement.

Candidates should have a passion and knowledge of the housing sector, the ability to problem solve and strong communication skills. All valuable attributes to becoming the next Independent Panel Member

You’ll need to give at least four hours every three months to prepare for and attend evening meetings at our London Wembley office or our Hertford office. Please note, meetings are currently held via Microsoft Teams due to COVID-19 restrictions and it is expected that moving forward the panel meetings will be held face to face but additional ad hoc meetings may be held remotely.

This position is an unpaid position, but we will reimburse you for reasonable expenses.  Eligibility conditions apply.
