We have fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team. Working within the IS technical delivery team as a Technical Specialist, you’ll collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to implement great technical solutions for the business.

You’ll join a large team of sociable and friendly Improvement professionals, working for Matt, our IS Technical Delivery Manager.  He’s a lover of hiking in the lake district and camping in his VW T5 Van, Matt loves hard rock and heavy metal and is already planning his next gigs and festivals when we are finally allowed to socialise again! Matt is also responsible for ensuring that we deliver the IS Services the business needs to succeed, driving continual service improvement and ensuring IS adds real value…

When the pandemic is over and we have our ‘new normal’ then Home Group will continue the flexibility of home and office working, with our current HQ in Gosforth being a meeting place for projects and teamwork, and our new HQ in Newcastle City coming along in Autumn 2022.

It’s also the team’s unwritten rule that you attend the important appointments in life, be it your child’s school play, your partner’s graduation, or to get your new fridge delivered. You can elect to fit these around your working day or use your flexi to take the time off.

About you

You’re a domain expert in your technical disciplines and work closely with the business to understand their requirements and how our technical portfolio can support and deliver business benefit.

You have experience in designing, implementing and migrating datacentres, including Networking skills such as LAN/WAN/MPLS, and an understanding and passion for learning technologies such as Azure.

It would be great if you had the right certificates for the job at hand, however we appreciate that you might have some great transferrable skills and the desire to work towards getting certified. Amongst the key skills we’re looking for are;- Significant experience of delivering and supporting IS services using ITIL best practice with an excellent understanding of ITIL and its links with other best practice methodologies and frameworks (PRINCE2, MSP). Ideally, you will hold an ITIL V3 foundation certificate.  You’ll also have extensive experience in the following technologies: VmWare, Cisco, Microsoft (inc Azure), SCCM, Citrix and Powershell Scripting. We’re also looking for experience or transferrable skills in Integrating solutions such as Biztalk.

You have a strong customer focus, seeking out ways to provide a high-quality outcomes for your customers. You’re an excellent communicator adapting your message to the group or audience and ensuring that your understanding is always clear.  You combine these skills with excellent negotiation and relationship building skills, allowing you achieve the best outcomes.

You’re also highly committed to continuous improvement, for yourself, to processes and for the business. You have experience of working on both technical projects and support, preferably in a systems administrator role.
