Small Providers Manager
Summary (overview of role):
We are looking for a financial analyst with management experience to join us as manager of the Small Providers team - the role can be based in either Manchester, Leeds or Birmingham
As the Small Providers Manager, you will manage the RSH team responsible for delivering the effective regulation of the diverse range of c1,000 registered providers that have fewer than 1,000 homes. There will be staff management responsibilities as part of the role.
One of the key elements of the role is to gain assurance that social housing providers meet the RSH’s economic standards and are financially viable. Financial knowledge and acumen is therefore a key attribute and the successful candidate will be CCAB qualified or have extensive experience in a financial environment and have a sound understanding of a range of governance, constitutional, funding and financing arrangements in businesses.
You will be able to digest and analyse a wide range of complex material and be able to identify situations that present novel, complex and contentious issues. You should be used to delivering results and making evidenced based and proportionate recommendations which support effective decision making in a regulatory, financial, or assurance-based environment. The post holder is responsible for ensuring the regulation of different sizes of providers is proportionate to the risks arising and responsive to emerging issues.
Articulate and credible, with experience of producing written and oral briefings that draw out and analyse the key issues and risks, you’ll combine this expertise with the ability to develop and manage effective stakeholder relationships at senior levels with colleagues, social housing providers, advisors, and external agencies as well as having highly developed influencing skills and resilience to deal with challenging situations.

Our staff are currently working from home due to COVID restrictions.
RSH’s core offices are in Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham. Our posts can be successfully carried out from any RSH office unless otherwise specified in the job information. We offer flexible working arrangements and staff can work from home for part of their hours.
Most roles involve some travel within England between our offices, and some roles also involve onsite visits to social housing providers.
Interview dates are TBC and will be held via Microsoft Teams due to the current closure of RSH offices and staff working from home.

The salary for this role is a spot salary within the given range, which will normally be the minimum of the range. Annual salary reviews are determined by the government pay award. In addition, when the probation period is successfully completed, a performance related bonus may be awarded, based on appraisal ratings at the end of the qualifying appraisal year.
