We are looking for a Team Leader to lead an Income & Disputes Resolution Team to regularly head off disputes and legal challenges and maximise income through sound recovery practices, whilst increasing customer satisfaction. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to show initiative and bring innovative ideas to the team.

Our Leasehold & Right to Buy Services (LRTBS) is changing to enable the team to fully meet evolving customer needs with regards to the delivery of 1,800 new leasehold homes across the borough. These homes include shared ownership, shared equity and new build private leasehold sales.

As a leader you will motivate a busy team of up to 10 people, responsible for income collection and dispute resolution and at times will be required to represent the Council in Court or at tribunal hearings. An excellent negotiator with sound organisational and analytical skills, demonstrating you can work under pressure and achieve performance targets whilst working accurately and effectively. You must have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.

You will have or be willing to work towards a relevant qualification or have experience in housing and management in a private or public sector. Ideally you will come with experience of working in income recovery and disputes resolution with a sound knowledge of income accounting and debt recovery practices. You will be a competent user of ICT, whilst demonstrating your ability to use MS Excel and Access. Use of G-Suite is desirable.

Whilst Leasehold knowledge and experience is desirable, we are open to candidates with the above transferable skills from the public or private sector, if a willingness to learn the relevant legislation and processes are demonstrated.
