About the role

The Property Services team delivers circa £14m of urgent and responsive repairs per annum within a range of environments, including residential, care and leasehold sectors.

Split into 3 regional teams the Senior Surveyor (Asset Repairs) role is a key role supporting the Regional Responsive Repairs Manager.

The Senior surveyor will manage teams of up to 4 Repairs Surveyors. The Senior Surveyor will manage all major repairs within a portfolio of properties within the region; provide expert technical leadership to repairs surveyors and support the Regional Responsive Repairs Manager in the management of a small team of repairs surveyors within an agreed locality.

The Senior surveyor will be responsible for ensuring effective relationships with District Managers (Operations) and Care home Managers within a given locality. Close liaison with the Senior Surveyor (Investment) is required to ensure a joined up property offering.

You will have overall responsibility for the delivery of and continually improving VFM from all major repairs in your locality. You will assist the Regional Responsive Repairs Manager with the management of a small team of Repairs Surveyors.

You will be the key local stakeholder manager with operational colleagues to ensure a collaborative approach to delivery of major repairs within the locality to ensure optimum value for the customer and business

You will take accountability for devolving responsibility to the contractor in line with Anchor best practice repairs processes. You will understand performance, provide feedback and confront poor performance positively and collaboratively with contractors, suppliers and all key stakeholders.

About you

You will have experience in the delivery of major repairs in a dispersed portfolio environment and possess in depth knowledge & understanding of construction related legislation and relevant Health and Safety legislation. You will have proven experience of working as a manager for a Housing Association, Contractor or other relevant organisation in investment activities.

You will have experience of project implementation and driving through continual improvement alongside a track record of delivering improved service performance.

You will have a degree level qualification or equivalent desirable and relevant qualifications in surveying/ building construction/ RIBA/ ARICS/ MCIOB are desirable. A project management qualification is also (Prince 2 or equivalent) desirable.
