We are determined to make Islington fairer. To create a place where everyone, whatever their background, has the opportunity to reach their potential and enjoy a good quality of life. We also have an ambitious goal – to be the best council in the country – with every employee clear about the part they play and inspired, focused, and supported to give their very best.

Our new Director of Corporate Landlord Services will bring together a number of large, in-house teams across asset management, property services, facilities management, and capital projects to deliver our council wide ambitions of developing a thriving community asset base. With close to 1,000 properties in a little over six square miles, you will ensure all our spaces deliver demonstrable benefit to our residents and meet the high expectations of their users.

Under your leadership, your teams will identify and deliver widescale major capital programmes, ensuring the council's zero carbon commitments are maintained, whilst the contracts you manage will maximise both commercial opportunity and social value. Meeting all statutory and regulatory requirements will be your minimum expectations.

This is a leadership role, and as such, we will be looking to you to drive positive cultural change, embody our behaviours and values in all that you do, and ensure the effective implementation of all corporate initiatives and transformation programmes you lead.

To be our next Director, you will have led professional property teams to deliver successful outcomes across a wide-ranging corporate property portfolio and have demonstrable experience of successfully delivering major capital programmes successfully. You will have operated successfully in a large, complex organisation delivering positive change and transformation. You will be a proactive performance manager with high standards, ensuring performance and development is effective for all staff. You will be a strong collaborator and confident working with external stakeholders to make a real difference to the residents of Islington.
