Empowering customers to live rewarding and happy lives. That?s when it hits home.

We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our brand-new extra care Community Wellbeing scheme, Amblers Orchard in the beautiful village of Tingley. Opening in July 2021, we?ll be supporting older people aged 55+ with varying care and support needs to live independently in their own home with peace of mind. We?ll be offering high quality living in our 63 beautifully designed apartments with a variety of on-site facilities including assistive technology, 24/7 on site wellbeing and care provision, restaurant, café, hair/beauty salon, cosy communal lounges with family area, activity room and picturesque landscaped gardens.

Based from our fantastic new building on Westerton Walk, we are just minutes from the M62 and M1 and very close to good public transport links, with bus stops just around the corner on Westerton Road with routes for Wakefield, Leeds and Bradford. Really handy!

Your role

As our Lead Care Worker, you?ll be supporting our customers in their own apartment within Amblers Orchard who have a range of support needs including frailty and dementia. You?ll be helping them to regain or maintain their independence and live well in their own home by carrying out every day daily living activities by themselves. You?ll work with our customers to develop their care plans as well as coordinating and guiding our team of Reablement Workers to deliver on these plans, ensuring person centred and reablement focused care.

There?s lots of exciting things for you to do, from leading on caseloads, risk assessments, support planning and working collaboratively with external agencies to assess and engage support for our customers. You?ll find that no two days are the same because everything we do is ?person centred? around our customers. You will work closely with our housing management team to develop wellbeing activities for our customers that accommodate their different needs and aspirations.  So, you might be helping with personal care (issuing medication or bathing) in the morning, supporting them to cook their lunch and a bit of shopping in the afternoon. We even help customers to go on holiday!  Some of our customers will have more complex needs and you?ll manage complex personal care including stoma and catheter care.

Start date in the role is 10^th May 2021.

Working hours

We need a super team to provide 24-hour support to our customers, so you?ll work on a rota basis with shifts being either 7.00 am to 3.00 pm, 2.30 pm to 10.30 pm and 10.00 pm to 7.30 am, taking your turn to work days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays. We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but will endeavour to find the shifts that suit you and in return we?ll give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!

Let us know in your covering letter if you able to cover these hours or hours that would best suit you.

About our team

We?re recruiting a brilliant new team, so you?re going to be part of a fabulous new Home Group family. You?ll be reporting to Melissa our Registered Manager, working alongside our Care team and Zain our Community Wellbeing Manager and his housing management team too.

About you

You?ll be passionate about making a big impact on our customers? lives and helping us shape this exciting new service. Your empathy will really shine through as will your ability to empower customers to live their best life. It?s important that you have worked in a supported housing environment before, be willing to provide personal care and have an excellent understanding of safety, risk management CQC requirements and legislation in relation to personal care. You?ll have a great understanding of professional boundaries, safeguarding, case management and creating personalised support plans. To help us keep up-to-date records and our customer safe we need you to be technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!) so that you can use our systems.

You?ll hold a minimum Level 2 Diploma in Care, if you also hold Level 3 then this would be great, but if you don?t, we?ll pay and support you to achieve this. If you have previous experience in an older persons or extra care service before or supporting customers through a reablement approach this would be fantastic! We won?t drop you in the deep end, we?ll nurture your talent, help you understand how things work at Home Group and you?ll have a fantastic induction with ongoing learning and support!

When you join, you?ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for this, if you don?t have a transferrable one already.
