We are looking for a Financial Risk Analyst to join us - the role can be based in either Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham or Bristol.

The Financial Viability and Assurance Team is a small team which plays a leading role in developing and utilising the regulator’s financial returns and datasets as well as preparing key publications such as the Global Accounts and Quarterly Survey of Registered Providers.The Financial Risk Analyst will play an important role within the regulator’s Business Intelligence function – maintaining and developing a suite of financial analysis tools which underpin the work of RSH as well as playing a part in producing some of the RSH’s key publications, including the Global Accounts and Quarterly Finance and Risk Survey reports.

The post holder will be responsible for providing high quality financial analysis that informs RSH’s understanding of the sector, contributes to future strategy discussions and helps to drive engagement with individual registered providers.  The role will include contributing to authoritative, sector-level, financial analysis including the production of some of RSH’s key financial publications as well as maintaining and developing RSH’s approach to financial viability regulation.  Tasks will include providing assessment tools, guidance and training to regulatory staff.

The successful candidate will hold a finance related degree, recognised CCAB accountancy qualification or commensurate experience.

The post holder will have a clear understanding of the principles of financial planning, financial modelling techniques, risk management, and of the financial issues facing organisations in the housing sector; with excellent IT skills, including an advanced working knowledge of Excel and strong data manipulation skills.

Our staff are currently working from home due to COVID restrictions.

RSH’s core offices are in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, and Bristol.  Our posts can be successfully carried out from any RSH office unless otherwise specified in the job information.  We offer flexible working arrangements and staff can work from home for part of their hours.

Most roles involve some travel within England between our offices, and some roles also involve onsite visits to social housing providers.

Interviews

Interviews will take place w/c 10 May 2021 and will be held via Microsoft Teams due to the current closure of RSH offices and staff working from home.

The salary for this role is a spot salary within the given range, which will normally be the minimum of the range.  Annual salary reviews are determined by the government pay award. In addition, when the probation period is successfully completed, a performance related bonus may be awarded, based on appraisal ratings at the end of the qualifying appraisal year.
