Could you support a resident to achieve their career goals?
We’re looking for an Employment Support Officer at Optivo who’s passionate about making a difference in people’s lives. Working as part of Social Impact employment team you will be covering the Sittingbourne, Sheppey and Faversham areas providing information, advice and guidance on one2one and group basis.
The Employment Support Officer will have the exciting opportunity to devise, plan and deliver an annual programme of residents’/participants’ personal development and employment support activities and projects.
You’ll run a caseload of employment support, advice and guidance for residents.
Ensuring that all activities contribute effectively to achieving measureable impact for participants in employment readiness progressions and job outputs/outcomes.
Within the role you’ll also have the opportunity to promote both Optivo’s wider Social Impact work and local projects and activities to residents and stakeholders. Representing Optivo at external meetings, partner events and with external stakeholders.
What you’ll need
You’ll ideally have a professional qualifications in employment support, community development, community health service delivery, youth work/young persons’ services, health care provision or relevant work based experience of similar experience
You’ll have prior experience successfully working with customers and community stakeholders to deliver training and advice activities and be used to providing 1-2-1 support, information advice and guidance. You’ll also have experience of deliver CV sessions, Interview support sessions and job searching support sessions in a group as well as a 121 setting.
You’ll have excellent communication and customer service skills, and the ability to prepare precise reports on project activities including performance and financial data and record keeping.
