About Us:

A new team, setting a new standard in home repairs

In Kensington and Chelsea, we put local people and local businesses at the heart of decision-making, working in partnership with them to provide quality services that are responsive, effective and efficient. Following the Grenfell tragedy we have brought our social housing stock back under local authority control, and we are now looking to take on a permanent Repairs team of tradespeople and trade apprentices.
 

The Role:

We want our Repairs team to set a new standard in customer service. You’ll help to make it happen, allocating tasks and ensuring we meet daily work targets and quality standards. You will also carry out training and ‘tool box talks’ to keep the team up to speed with work-related issues. Constantly on the lookout for ways to improve the service, you will be open to ideas from both customers and your team. A key part of the role is communicating with residents at meetings and presentations, for which you will need to work occasional evenings and weekends.

About You:

Your success depends on a mixture of trade skills and people skills. You’ll be a qualified Domestic Installation Electrician NVQ level 3 or equivalent City and Guilds, ideally holding City & Guilds 2391. Some experience of managing other tradespeople is essential, while a background in social housing repairs would be ideal. You must be familiar with COSHH and HSE legislation. Well-organised, flexible and level-headed, you’ll be able to juggle priorities and stay calm under pressure. Good communication and customer service skills are also important.
