We have a fantastic opportunity for a Cover Caretaker to join our team working in Thamesmead. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £20,390 per annum.

About the Cover Caretaker role:

You will provide service cover to all areas of our Caretaking Team. You’ll work to an established cleaning schedule in both internal and external communal areas, including entrances, staircases, windows, corridors, lifts, bin rooms, walls, floors, podium/courtyard gardens, car parks and other public areas within Peabody areas of responsibility.

Responsibilities of our Cover Caretaker:

- Developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to support our customers

- Assessing clients’ needs to ensure effective service delivery

- Advising and supporting our customers in resolving their queries and issues, ensuring that their expectations are managed and proactive resolutions are identified

- Updating and maintaining systems/records to ensure that information/data is kept up to date and accurate and that KPI’s are met

- Ensuring high standards of cleanliness are maintained in the allocated areas

- Litter picking, sweeping and removing rubbish of all kinds from the allocated areas

- Ensuring that service cupboards, storage areas and bin rooms are kept clean, tidy and accessible at all times

- Undertaking any emergency cleaning which may be necessary to preserve standards of hygiene and Health and Safety of residents, visitors or employees

- Keeping daily records of all tasks completed

- Assisting in maintaining all communal fittings on a regular basis to ensure correct operation

- Carrying out internal communal area lighting checks and replace blown light bulbs

- Carrying out bulk collection and disposal and general driving duties from time to time

- Removing bulk from buildings and allocated areas and assist with bulk collections and disposal

- Removing debris of any kind from gullies and drains to ensure all are clear and operational

- Carrying out external horticultural grounds maintenance duties

- Carrying out and recording daily visual inspections of all communal areas

- Being the first point of contact and developing an effective professional relationship with residents

- Establishing, developing and maintaining effective working relationships with work colleagues and training providers

- Liaising with the colleagues in the Warden and Neighbourhood Services Teams regarding matters of anti-social behaviour or safeguarding and vulnerability concerns

- Looking after and safety check any company-issued equipment in your care, reporting equipment loss or failure to the Team Supervisor

What we’re looking for in our Cover Caretaker:

- Experience of cleaning in a customer-facing role

- A good standard of basic literacy skills

- A good standard of communications skills

- Health and Safety awareness & knowledge of COSHH

- Awareness of the importance of good standards of appearance & presentation

- The ability to use a mobile device to send and receive emails, photo’s etc
