Assistant Housing Manager
Huntley Place, Reading
Fixed Term 12 months maternity cover, Full Time (37.5 hpw)

Salary from £22,500 to £25,500 per annum, negotiable based on skills and experience, plus brilliant benefits!

This is your opportunity to get involved in the delivery of our exciting new state of the art Extra Care Living Community on the outskirts of Reading. This is a service and a job with a difference! We have fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team. We support our brilliant customers who reside in our larger than average Extra Care Service (yes, we are bragging).

Our community houses 129 purpose-built apartments (which are mixed tenures all in the same building). Our customers are mostly aged 55+, but this can vary. We help our customers by offering them a high quality living experience with a variety of brilliant facilities, run by our partner organisations. There is a Care team on-site, community wellbeing facilities, a restaurant, separate hair and beauty salons, communal activity room (adaptable to all purposes) as well as landscaped gardens and communal lounges.

The role
• This opportunity is fantastic for an experienced property or housing manager with great leadership abilities and a genuine passion to lead our services in delivering aspirational person-centred housing related support. You’ll have a responsibility for helping us manage our Extra Care Scheme in Reading. Your role is integral in shaping our wider community offer as well as working with volunteers to deliver our services.
• You’ll have the chance to define your own role, however key will be supporting and executing the services for our customers. This job is vital for the smooth running of the services and on to engage our customers in a unique and bespoke way and to keep them active.

A bit about you
• You’re vibrant and thrive in a customer facing environment and enjoy working with an older customer group. You’re comfortable delivering our services in a wider community setting or on a 121 basis in our residents own properties. While you love helping your customers, you’re also able to find the balance to move on to your next tasks. In this job no day is the same!
• You’ve worked in an “Older Person's” or “Extra Care service and know how these operate. You are in your element working in a multi team environment and get the best from working in partnerships (and definitely know how to make this work!).
• You’ll manage a diverse and friendly team and take accountability for the delivery of our service to our customers. On top of that you’re also pretty awesome at managing your own time and organising yourself and others.
• As this is a community-based job, you need to be able to drive, as well as having access to a car insured for business purposes. Don’t worry, we’ll pay you expenses to cover this use!
When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
