This role

As the Wellbeing Coordinator you will be working with customers to achieve outcomes that enhance and improve their physical and mental wellbeing. You will work closely with our Registered Care & Support team, creating and developing inclusive activities to improve independence and developing nutrition plans that can be adopted by customers and staff to improve the choices made when preparing and cooking food. Your key objective is to support the continued improvement of physical and mental health of our customers through a combination of food and personalised activities, engaging with external groups, and partnership working.

You will be working primarily with customers to identify:

  • Their nutritional likes, dislikes, preferences and choices
  • Their mental capacity in making healthy food choices
  • Ways they can develop new skills/interests
  • Ways they can create interesting activity plans, both internally and externally that helps to improve their physical and mental health.
  • How they can engage in activities that interest them & benefits their physical health.
  • Ways they can share their skills and experience with others if they are willing to do so

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in the role, previous experience is not essential, but a passion in working with vulnerable people and promoting positive wellbeing and independence is key. Having imagination, the ability to positively influence, effect and affect change is crucial.

This role in the long-term will evolve into supporting people in both dietary and exercise support planning. However, in the short to mid-term your focus will be developing bespoke dietary support plans that incorporate weight loss, physical health and mental health recovery.

There will also be an element of training, coaching and mentoring staff in the delivery of all meals, to include portion sizes, menu planning, providing choice, etc.

You will need to be able to work on a flexible rota working Monday to Friday, working 25 hours a week.

The nature of this role means that the post holder will be involved in regulated activity with vulnerable adults. To meet our commitment to providing safe, high quality services to our customers we will complete an enhanced background check with the Disclosure and Barring service, once an offer of employment is made. A new check will be completed every three years.
