Net Zero Carbon Programme Manager

Employer
Raven Housing Trust
Location
Redhill, Surrey
Salary
Up to £60,000
Closing date
16 May 2021

Join this innovative social business as Net Zero Carbon Manager and put all your leadership, commercial and construction/asset management skills behind a major new sustainability initiative.

Raven is a business with a clear social purpose: building homes and changing lives in Surrey and Sussex. 2021 sees us beginning our net zero carbon journey with planning work and early projects. Delivery will grow from these smaller projects, as we develop our partnerships, skills and approaches, to become one of the most significant ventures we have ever undertaken.

As Net Zero Carbon Manager, you’ll be a key leader on this journey – responsible for delivering a programme averaging £4m a year for the next 25 years, together with the strategy, planning, procurement, communications and partnership building to make it a commercial success.

This is a very much a hands-on, evolving role. You’ll bring together the teams that will design our approach, forge new partnerships and plans, win funding and deliver programmes for carbon retrofit and other sustainability measures. You’ll also work closely on strategic asset management planning, information systems and data, in order to ensure accurate investment decisions, best value and strong data management. You’ll even be responsible for managing all of the programme’s H&S, customer satisfaction and quality considerations.

Your experience should encompass carbon, sustainability and construction/asset management – preferably in the housing sector and including retrofit qualification or knowledge of related technologies. With real commercial vision and a proven record of delivering business change, you’ll have a good grasp of investment decision-making, grant funding and private finance raising. Your experience should also cover ensuring H&S and strong contract management, as well as excellent IT skills, preferably including Keystone.

A proactive leader and innovator, you’re as comfortable helping out with an unforeseen problem as you are engaging, motivating and influencing others to drive projects and performance. You should also share our values: earning trust by being open and accountable, listening with an open mind, working collaboratively and caring about making things better.

We support and trust our staff to work as a team and be their best. We offer good salaries and benefits, a great pension scheme, paid holiday and sickness benefit, plus support for further training to develop your skills and career.
