Housing Director

Y:Housing is looking for our next strategic and visionary leader to join our independent charity. Supporting 7 Local YMCAs, to deliver Housing services to their local communities. Our aim is to support those YMCAs to serve their local communities and provide opportunity for development in Body, Mind and Spirit.  

Y:Housing working in partnership with local YMCAs provide 252 units of accommodation that focus on the needs of young people. In addition, a further 70 units are in development. The post holder will control a budget of £500K.

Job Purpose

To provide advice, support and guidance that will promote the delivery of high standards of housing management services within Y Housing. Ensure that all partner YMCAs remain true to the agreed principles as approved by the partners, and that YMCA Housing is an effective delivery vehicle ensuring sustainability of Local Associations and contributing to movement and development. To ensure Y:Housing remains compliant with its regulators.

 It would be advantageous if you have:

  • Knowledge of social housing and the operational requirements of a quality accommodation service.
  • Previous experience of the reporting and compliance requirements of RofSH and Homes England
  • Experience of strategic planning, as well as budget management and financial management procedures
  • Strong grasp of the organisational mission, vision and values.

To the successful candidate we offer:
