Plus, brilliant benefits!

Enabling our customers to live safely. That’s when it hits home!

We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team. We’re looking for a Housing Concierge to come and join our team as our waking-night colleague. Working Monday to Friday from 9pm to 9am.

Our team look after our customers who have some quite complex backgrounds and support needs. They can have histories of substance or alcohol dependence, offending histories or have a history of homelessness and nearly all have mental health support needs! Our customers live in an old building that has been converted into 9 self-contained units, and each customer has their own small flat, where they stay with us for up to two years. The team help our customers to develop and maintain independent living skills, so that they can successfully move on to their own independent accommodation.

In your role, you’ll be responsible for the security of the building completing patrols and monitoring CCTV to look out for antisocial behaviour or any other risks. You’ll be supported to develop the skills to tackle any inappropriate behaviours!

About our team

Although you’ll work nights, we do get together regularly in the day time for training and team meetings. You’ll be part of 2 teams, joining both the team that supports our customers here in Bodmin, as well as joining our manager Sam’s Cornwall wide Concierge team. You’ll be working alongside our fabulous team who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements. To us we’re not just a team we’re a ‘work family’.

Our brilliant manager Sam has worked for Home Group for 11 years now, starting as a support worker and working his way up to manager during that time!

Outside of work Sam loves his allotment and it’s kept him sane (and fed) during the past year!

About you

As our Housing Concierge you’ll play a really important role in supporting the smooth running of our services. You will ensure the safety and securing of our buildings and of our customers, and make sure we get on with our neighbours!

You’ll get involved in lots of different activities which will include monitoring CCTV, regularly patrolling the premises, monitoring visitors to and from the building and ensuring tenancy conditions and service rules are adhered to.  As our housing support Concierge you’ll also provide out of hours cover being the first point of contact for our clients during the night and at times we’ll also need you to do some general cleaning duties too.

You’re passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. You’ll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative.

If you’re not the biggest fan of technology, that’s not a problem to us. You do need to know that we are quite a high tech company and most of our application process and mandatory learning are online. However, we’re glad to support you, if you need help.

It would be amazing if you have worked in this type of environment before, however it’s your “can do” positive attitude and enthusiasm that are critical to make this role a success. We can nurture your talent, just let us know in your cover letter why you have a passion for working here!

When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
