We have fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team! We support our brilliant customers who have varied vulnerabilities. Homeside Lodge is an extra care scheme for 55’s and over located in Wallsend. Care and Housing staff are available on site 24 hours a day to support our customers with all needs. We have a fantastic team of staff consisting of Care, Housing, Caterers, Cleaners and Concierge.
Our customers have a range of care and housing needs inclusive of dementia, complex mental health and learning disabilities and our staff are trained in providing the best care to suit their needs. We fully promote enablement ensuring our customers are living as independently as possible within their home.
We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). CQC are the independent regulator of health and social care in England who monitor the service we provide to ensure we meet fundamental standards of quality and safety. There is a full time Registered Manager as well as a large care team that support customers with all aspects of care needs, instructed by the local authority.
The Care team support with all personal care needs including bathing, showering, assistance with toileting, nutrition and hydration. The Care team are also fully trained to support customers with the administration of medication. The care plans are individual to each customer with their support needs; we pride ourselves on creating bespoke person-centred packages which promote dignity, choice and independence. Care plans are implemented following a full assessment of the customer and updated as needs change or develop.
The Housing team support customers to maintain their tenancy and living independently and are also responsible for the health and safety of the property, repairs and maintenance to ensure our customers live in a safe environment which feels like home.
We have 45 en-suite apartments which include a wet room, walk in shower and wood floors. We have 6 communal dining rooms, 6 communal kitchens and 6 communal bathrooms. There is also one main kitchen where the catering team are based and one large communal dining room. We offer a full furniture pack which includes a bed, wardrobe, bedside table and draws for customers who don’t have belongings to bring with them.
We have recently integrated a Wellbeing room supporting with sensory needs, a nail bar and a beautiful refurbished Salon on site. We have a fabulous spacious garden with a large grassed area which is maintained on a monthly basis. There are seating areas, a marquee and flower planters for customers to enjoy on nice summer days. We have a car park to the front and side of the building for family visits.
As our Housing Concierge you’ll play a really important role in supporting the smooth running of our service. You’ll make sure that our buildings and customers are safe and secure, and that we get on with our neighbours!
You’ll get involved in lots of different activities which will include monitoring CCTV, regularly patrolling the premises, monitoring visitors to and from the building and ensuring tenancy conditions and service rules are adhered to. You’ll also be our first point of contact for customers during the night and at times we’ll also need you to do some general task duties too.

About our team
Although you’ll work nights, we do get together regularly in the daytime for training and team meetings. You’ll be part of our wider team who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements. To us were not just a team we’re a ‘work family’.
Our brilliant manager is Richard who has come from a housing background and joined Homeside in September 2020, he has worked for Home Group for seven years. There are 15 of us in the housing team and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too!
We provide 24-hour support to our customers each day and every day. In this role you’ll work during the twilight hours doing waking nights work. You’ll work 4 nights on and 4 off which are 11 hr shifts (21.00-08.00) on a rota basis and take your turn working evenings, weekends and bank holidays. We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!
You’re passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. You’ll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative.
To make sure that we keep our records straight, and customers safe, it's really important that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)

When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
