Salary £18,576 to £19,900 rising to £25,350 per annum

About the role
We have fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team. You will represent Home Group and be a main point of contact for all general property and grounds maintenance queries in the Leam Lane area of Gateshead. This will also include reporting, monitoring and escalating repairs where necessary to our dedicated customer contact centre and maintenance team.
You will be responsible for all minor repair works requested such as repairs to doors, locks and changing tap washers along with general household duties such as unblocking sinks. You will be required to undertake internal decoration of premises and any minor emergency repairs that are deemed necessary. Externally to the premises you will be expected carry out general garden maintenance and communal cleaning.
In addition to this you will support with estate inspections, compliance tasks, arranging for the removal of fly tipping, and litter picking amongst any other tasks that may come along. This role is customer orientated and you must have a ‘can do’ attitude.
Our aim is to keep the estate clean and tidy making it an aesthetically appealing sustainable environment for our customers to live in. Together we’ll make a difference!

Working hours
You’ll work Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00 however some flexibility is required to ensure that any allocated works are completed to a high standard, within budget and timescales. As we’re asking you to be flexible for us, we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!

About you 
You’ll be a great team player who has skills in maintenance including carpentry, basic plumbing and decorating and be prepared to complete a diverse range of tasks. You will be an organised person and excellent communicator in order to work alongside team members and have regular interaction with our customers.
It would be amazing if you have worked in this type of environment before, however it’s your “can do” positive attitude and enthusiasm that are critical to make this role a success. We can nurture your talent, just let us know in your cover letter why you have a passion for working here!
Ideally, you need to be able to drive, as well as having access to a car insured for business purposes. Don’t worry, we’ll pay you expenses to cover this use!
When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
