Housing Management Worker

Hartlepool

Full Time (37.5 hours per week), Permanent

Salary £18,576 to £18,730 pa rising to £19,200 through length of service

We have fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome new team within our all new Hartlepool Move On service. We strive to support our brilliant customers who are over 18 with low to medium support needs and who have a requirement for safe, quality and affordable housing.

They live in our amazing newly refurbished dispersed one and two-bedroom homes located throughout Hartlepool. We help our customers by focussing on tenancy support, in turn helping them to live independently and feel enabled.

Working alongside our Coordinators, you’ll support by helping them to manage their tenancy and rent accounts. You’ll also support our customers with their housing benefit claims and making sure that these are received on their rent account. You’ll help turn around our vacant properties so that new customers who need our help can move in quickly.  You’ll also make sure our service achieves maximum occupancy, and that we are health and safety compliant too!

About our team

Based in our all new Hartlepool Hub, you’ll be working alongside our fabulous team who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements. To us were not just a team we’re a ‘work family’.

Our manager is Ste who has been with Home Group for 12 years, and who is not only passionate about the amazing work we do but also his beloved Middlesbrough Football Club too! There will be 9 of us in the team once we’re up and running and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too! You’ll be joining the brilliant Debby, Dee and Helen who are all super passionate about really making a difference to those they support.

Working hours

You’ll work on a Rota basis between the hours of 9am – 7pm and take your turn working days, evenings and weekends (currently Saturdays only). We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!

Looking for a more flexible working pattern? You can also join us on a flexible basis by being part of our bank. You can work hours that fit around your current commitments or even pick up some additional shifts to your main role to earn some extra cash and get paid weekly!

About you

You’re passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. You’ll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds. You will have some experience in safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans, alongside working collaboratively.

As Housing Management Worker you’ll support letting and re-letting homes, collecting rents, and taking formal tenancy action when needed. You’re great at managing your own time and have strong written and verbal communication skills.  

If you’re not the biggest fan of technology, that’s not a problem to us. You do need to know that we are quite a high-tech company and most of our application process and mandatory learning are online. However, we’re glad to support you, if you need help.   

It would be amazing if you have worked in this type of environment before, however it’s your “can do” positive attitude and enthusiasm that are critical to make this role a success. We can nurture your talent, just let us know in your cover letter why you have a passion for working here!

As this is a community-based role, you need to be able to drive, as well as having access to a car insured for business purposes. Don’t worry, we’ll pay you expenses to cover this use!

When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
