About our team
To us were not just a team we’re a ‘work family’. Our Operations Manager for the team is Nic Davey who has a vast amount of experience and loves getting muddy at Music festivals. There are 8 of us in the team, and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too!
The Essex Housing team is made up of 4 Housing Managers, 2 Housing Manager apprentices, 1 Community Housing Assistant and 1 Financial Inclusion Partner. You will be managing all the Tall buildings in East Essex and will be based in Braintree with flexible working. The great news is that we’ll give you the kit to make that easy!
As a team we’re critical to supporting our customers. The working week will be 9 to 5:30 Monday to Friday. The good news is that you will have a degree of flexibility, as it’s the team’s unwritten rule that you attend the important appointments in life. So, whether it’s your child’s school play, your partner’s graduation, or to get your new fridge delivered we’ll work with you in what matters. Our focus is on getting the job done, not your working hours!
You'll have a proven passion for delivering excellent customer service and a genuine desire to help our customers. You will demonstrate effective relationship, negotiation, conflict resolutions skills and the ability to self-manage and prioritise. You'll also need an understanding of housing, neighbourhood management, housing law, universal credit, welfare benefits and how this relates to the work of a Registered Provider.
We want a dynamic and energised individual that will oversee significant works to our tall buildings. This will include overseeing works with contractors and maintenance colleagues, making sure the buildings are compliant with all Health and Safety regulations, work in partnership with stakeholders, engaging with the wider community and right at the heart of it providing a first-class service to our customers. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced housing professional looking for a project, opportunity to drive improvements and do something amazing for customers.
Here at Home Group we have invested heavily in our future and use current and up to date equipment. You’ll be issued with the latest kit, which could include a Surface Pro and mobile. So, it's important to us that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)
It would be amazing if you have worked in this type of environment before, however it’s your “can do” positive attitude and enthusiasm that are critical to make this role a success. We can nurture your talent, just let us know in your cover letter why you have a passion for working here!
As this is a Mobile working and community-based role, you need to be able to drive, as well as having access to a car insured for business purposes. Don’t worry, we’ll pay you expenses to cover this use!
When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
