Communications Manager

Salary: 36,500 - £39,000

Location:  Home - and office-based working (in Hampton Wick) as appropriate or required

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours a week

We’re looking for an experienced and customer-focused communications professional to step into the role of Communications Manager at Hastoe.

As part of a small but highly motivated team, your expertise in delivering impactful, multi-channel comms, your use of insights and feedback and your passion for making a difference could really help to drive forward Hastoe’s vision and ambitions for affordable and sustainable rural homes - now and in the future.

How we communicate with our residents, our build partners, politicians, the media - and our colleagues - is critical to the work we do at Hastoe. As our Communications Manager you’d play a key role in all these areas, promoting and disseminating our ongoing plans to build and manage sustainable, affordable homes in some of the most beautiful, rural areas of southern England.

Reporting to the Head of Communications, you would manage and support the work of our Communications Officer and you’d also be expected to advise and collaborate closely with Hastoe senior leaders and the Board.

Under current circumstances, you’ll be working from home with office-based working as required at our offices in Hampton Wick, just across the river from Kingston-upon- Thames.

Your main responsibilities will involve:

  • Managing a range of resident and corporate communications, planned and reactive, across digital and print channels
  • Leading and delivering our regular cycle of internal communications
  • Supporting and managing PR and media campaigns as well as openings and events
  • Developing and delivering resident engagement plans
  • Focusing on helping to improve the resident experience at Hastoe

About You
You’ll have at least 5 years’ experience in Communications and PR. Knowledge of the housing sector is important but not essential.  You will be proactive, full of ideas and very focused on impactful ways to communicate with our target audiences. You’ll also be highly organised, keen to develop the skills of your direct reports, able to manage conflicting priorities and experienced in building strong relationships across a business.
